Federal Police Busts Biggest Austrian Darknet Drug Dealers

In cooperation between the Federal Criminal Police Office and the municipal police forces of Graz and Innsbruck, one of the largest addictive drug dealers in Austria to date has been identified. The man in question is 44 years old and is suspected of having trafficked around 100 kilograms of addictive substances in darknet under the pseudonym "Rasputin". Police findings: Eight arrests and numerous seizures of addictive substances, weapons and documents.

The Federal Police of Austria announced this in a press statement.

In June 2019, Graz detectives came across a person in Darknet who was trading large quantities of addictive substances under the pseudonym "Rasputin" as well as substances subject to the New Psychoactive Substances Act (NPSG).

Extensive investigations followed and paid off: Detectives of the Graz City Police Command (SPK), the Innsbruck SPK and the Office for Combating Addictive Drug Crime at the Federal Criminal Police Office (BK) investigated seven Austrian and one Albanian suspects between the ages of 24 and 30 and arrested them. The men are suspected of having purchased the illegal substances via "Rasputin" and resold them or deposited them for other customers. During house searches, large quantities of amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine, heroin, mephedrone, marijuana, crystal meth, ketamine and codeine were found and seized from the suspects. In addition, the officers seized weapons and blanks for the production of driver's licenses and appraisal badges, a punching and embossing machine, punching pliers and punching equipment.
